More than ever, consumers are worried about food quality and safety. Plant extracts, which are commonly used in food products, are frequently subject to fraud

Is food analysis on the right track?

Bioprofiling or non-target effect-directed analysis substantially helps to solve the increasing challenge of food safety along the global product chain. It directly points to bioactive compounds in multicomponent mixtures, which should be of interest for food control and safety, but are currently out of the focus. The potential of this bioanalytical method was highlighted in an iFZ course early this year.
