Language models updated
March 11, 2025
- The resoning model "o3-mini" commercially provided by OpenAI 🇺🇸 has been added to kiChat. According to OpenAI, the o3-mini model was optimized especially for programming, mathematics and science and is currently about 50% cheaper than GPT-4o.
JLU kiChat open for all members of the JLU
March 1, 2025
- With the opening to students, access to JLU kiChat was made available to all JLU members.
Revised user interface
February 24, 2025
- The menu section has been revised to provide clearer orientation when selecting the various language models.
- Individual language models now show the servers (internal/external) on which they are operated. In addition, the information texts have been clarified and new ones were added.
- A new info area can be accessed via the help button at the top left.
Language models updated
February 7, 2025
- We offer via our HRZ server two models from 🇫🇷 Mistral AI: a fast model Mistral-Small 24B for simple tasks and quick answers and Mistral-Large 123B for precisely processing larger amounts of text. The models can be found under ki@JLU—'chat' and 'text'.
- The model DeepSeek R1 32B that the HRZ hosts has been deactivated as our users desired. Furthermore, DeepSeek R1 is safe to use via the German-run API Service der Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung Göttingen (GWDG).
- Bug fix: DeepSeek no longer shows an empty thought process object if it doesn't contain any text.
- The model openGPT-X Teuken 7B has been removed from AI for Everyone.
- Links to the FAQs and the change log have been updated.
More language models updated
February 3, 2025
- The model DeepSeek R1 32B that the HRZ provides has been added to AI for Everyone.
- The model Llama 3.1 70B SauerkrautLM that GWDG provides has been changed to Llama 3.3 70B-Instruct.
- The model Quen 2.5 Coder 32B that GWDG provides has been added.
- The model openGPT-X Teuken 7B that GWDG previously provided has been turned off. Existing chats can still be saved for a short time.
- Links to Information on speech models used have been added to each model area in the title of the model.
- The AI for Everyone interface provides more information on severed connections and conversations with errors.
GWDG language model updated

- The model DeepSeek R1 Llama 70B Distill that GWDG provides has been added to AI for Everyone.
Error handling added

- AI for Everyone now gives detailed error messages if communication with a language model is interrupted or the server cannot be reached.
- Bug fixes in the display of markdowns in model answers
Chat control expanded

- Chats can now be edited more flexibly: Individual messages can be deleted and regenerated without deleting the entire chat history.
Export and import
January 24, 2025
- Chats can now be downloaded and re-uploaded as files in the menu 'Chat History'. Existing chat histories can be exported and then edited in another model.
Improved code optimization

- How code is displayed has been changed; nested code blocks are now displayed correctly.
Bug fix: code formatting

- An error in how code is displayed has been fixed so that language-specific comments in code blocks appear in the correct format.
New local chat model for HRZ

- The language model Command-R 32B has replaced the formerly used local language model. The system prompt has been updated—the JLU assistant is now a general assistant.
AI for Everyone has been activated for employees

- Access to JLU's AI for Everyone has been activated for all university employees. See Circular 2025-02.
GWDG language models updated

- The models Teuken 7B research and Llama 3.1 SauerkrautLM 70B Instruct have been added to AI for Everyone.
Logo edited

- The Logo has been updated in accordance with the President's Office and now appears in its new design.
Bug fix: text missing in the interface after updates

- When logging in, translation files are automatically checked for updates in order to fix the error where no text was shown in the interface after an update.
Display error on mobile devices fixed

GWDG models added

AI for Everyone has been activated for early adopters

- After approval by the staff council, 500 early adopters can test the system.
- Those interested can register in the Stud.IP group 'AI for Everyone! Early Adopters'.
