SPSS License Purchase
Since 1968, SPSS Inc. (now part of IBM) has been developing its statistical program package. The original name was 'Statistical Package for the Social Sciences'. The program has a user-friendly graphical interface and contains the common methods of data evaluation, as well as several systems for the graphical representation of statistical data and parameters.
Note: As of October 2024, JLU Giessen has concluded a campus license agreement for all employees and students. This results in a number of changes compared to the previous license agreement. Please first take a look at our list of frequently asked questions. (German-language)

Campus license via a central license server operated by the JLU IT Service Centre (HRZ). Connection is possible both from within the university network and via VPN from outside. The license costs are financed centrally through the HRZ budget. Instructions for connecting are available to all employees and students on this page. | License period | Annually until 2028. The licenses are time-limited and expire each year on September 30. The HRZ takes care of updating the network licenses on the central JLU license server. Users connected to the license server do not need to take any action. |
