Semester Contributions
The semester contribution for the summer semester 2026 for
- first enrolment and
- rematriculation
has changed.
This is included in the semester contribution (international students on official exchange programmes/schemes (Incoming) do not have to pay the administrative fee, thus the contribution for these students is € 50.00 less than for home students):
€ 403.43 for the summer semester 2026:
€ 208.80 Germany semester ticket
€ 11.50 contribution for the student body
€ 118.00 contribution for the Studentenwerk/student services
€ 50.00 administrative fee
€ 1.50 ticket for the Giessen municipal theatre
€ 2.65 bike rental system
€ 2.00 group legal protection insurance
€ 3,98 Swimming pool flat rate
€ 5,00 Cinema flat rate
Please note that, regarding the master’s degree program Sustainable Transition (fully digital), the semester fee includes only parts of the above amounts. It adds up to only € 120.35 (€ 59.00 for the student union (“Studentenwerk“), € 50 administrative fee and € 11.50 for the student body), which must be paid upon enrollment or re-registration in this program.
