At PCMO, we offer different mentoring programs specifically tailored to your personal career goals. During the mentoring program you will be accompanied by an experienced mentor for a defined period of time - the focus will be on personal advice and the sharing of experience and informal knowledge.

Career goal science

The mentoring program "Wissenschaftskarriere" addresses postdocs from all departments of the universities of Gießen and Marburg who pursue a scientific career. The mentors are all experienced professors from the universities of Gießen and Marburg.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 25 FEBRUARY 2022

Interviews (online): 04.03.22 and 07.03.22 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Introductory workshop mentees (online): 06.04.22, 2 - 5 p.m.

Introductory workshop for mentors (online): 08.04.22, 10 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

Kick-off event (online): 08.04.22, 1 - 2 p.m.

Mid-term evaluation (presence): 07.10.22, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Closing event (online): 24.03.23, 12 - 14 hrs

Career goal science management

The mentoring program "Einstieg ins Wissenschaftsmanagement" addresses doctoral candidates and postdocs of the University of Gießen, who are considering entering science management (after graduation). As part of the program, you will be accompanied by experienced mentors from university and non-university science management .

Components of both programs

  •    regular meetings with the mentor
  •    kick-off event with introductory workshop
  •    interim workshop with reflection on the mentoring process
  •    final event
  •    regular meetings of mentees on career-relevant topics

Events

The mentoring programme "Entry into Science Management" will start again in autumn/winter 2022. You will find the application form here on the website soon.

  • Interim result event with reflection of the process
  • Final meeting
  • Regular meetings (mentees) on career-relevant topics
