Digital tools, global partnerships, and student participation in focus
On 23 May 2025, the second day of the Teaching Futures – Partners in Progress conference will take place online via BigBlueButton and gather.town. The focus will be on interactive Roundtables exploring international perspectives and digital innovations in higher education. Across two sessions, participants will engage in discussions with experts from Germany and abroad on key topics such as global collaboration, digital tools, and student participation.

How can digital tools enhance institutional collaboration in international higher education? with Maraike Büst (Justus Liebig University Giessen)
Session 2 (11:30–12:00 CEST):
- Room 4 – International Partnerships in Times of Crisis
Using the current situation in Ukraine as a case study, this session explores how digital initiatives and international partnerships can support higher education during political and social crises. with Oleksandr Poddenezhnyi (National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy, Ukraine) & Iryna Tarku (Justus Liebig University Giessen)
- Room 5 – The Future of International Partnerships
This discussion focuses on how decentralized teaching and learning networks are reshaping global collaboration in higher education. with Aurore Berthier (University of Limoges, France) & Dr. Robert Craig (Justus Liebig University Giessen)
- Room 6 – Student Engagement in International Partnerships
This table examines how students can actively contribute to international collaborations and the role of intercultural, student-led initiatives. with Dr. Ina Alexandra Machura & Samuel Henryk Gross (Goethe University Frankfurt)
