Predefined tags
In order to ensure a consistent annotation of the early pidgin and creole texts, only a set of predefined tags are available to choose from. The tags serve to specify what kind of information/data can be found in the sources. The following table displays the tags which are used:

<sit> | <sit>is used to mark the situation in which an utterance is made |
<set> | <set> is assigned to text which deals with the contact setting, which can be general information on languages spoken, the political or economical situation etc. |
<att> | <att> can be used to mark text as describing language attitudes |
<lng> | <lng> is used for language descriptions (grammatical descriptions, etc.) |
<d> | Language data is tagged with <d> |
