Student Council

The Slavic Department has a “Fachschaft,” or Student Council, which represents the interests of students. A Student Council, in principle, consists of all students in the respective subject area. The student council is run by the “Fachschaftsrat,” which is made up of active student representatives and elected student councilors. Every student of Slavic Studies can take part in the student council. Since the organization is self-governed, there are many different areas in which you can work. The active members organize readings, meetings in different foreign languages for international students, and organize excursions and events for all students of the institute. The summer festival of Slavic Studies and the Christmas party have been organized by active student council members for several years.
