37 (excerpt)
I am happy to invite you to a showing of an excerpt of my work "37" at Tanzfestival Rhein-Main in the frame of "Choreographische Werkstatt":
37 is a solo which deals with the relation between the concrete space and the concrete body, between watching and being watched and the always-already absent present. It takes place in the left-overs of the performance before which stays present in the traces of the past and as an imagination of some thing which is still to come. The grey in the space takes over, everything is in between. The spectator experiences 37 minutes of form and movement in different scales and distances and a dance which leaves behind the blurred outlines of what is not present.

Aus dem Innenleben eines Staubsaugerbeutels
Dust everywhere. In the cracks of computer keyboards, on the leaves of our houseplants, in the fabric of your finest dress. No matter how often we remove it, it returns and reminds us how all living things turn into dust.
äöü takes a close look at this dirty, grey and tiny archive of our everyday life and transfers it into the vacuum cleaner bag "Black Box". They present a piece about nothing less than the great questions of form and content, life and death, magic and labour.

Autumn School: Imagination, Institutions, Precarity
2nd of December till 6th of December 2019
ATW, Justus-Liebig University Giessen
@ the Georg Büchner Saal, Bismarkstr. 37, 35390 Gießen
Autumn school is part of the research network on the future of imaginary institutions, which was established by several partners (EEPAP, Lublin, Nomad Dance Academy Ljubljana, Institute for Applied Theatre Studies, Justus Liebig University, Giessen, BADCo, Zagreb, CollectivA, Cluj, Lokomotiva Skopje) and is supported by the Allianz Stiftung.
We are inviting young artists, students, professionals, writers and thinkers to engage together in the imagining of the alternatives of working and being together, reacting to the populist and nationalist wave in Europe. We would like to examine new institutionalization, practices and modes of producing, especially related to the work of the young artists, who are working in the increasingly but also precarious international field and at the same time fighting for the right to work and remain in their local surrounding, fighting nationalism and populist pressure. We will exchange and share models and practices, current and historical one, which insist on the creation of experiments, feminist, radical and progressive practices, which insists on equality, solidarity and work against the populist political imagination.
The school is developed as a platform, where young artists and students, who are at the end of their studies or just finished, can meet other cultural workers and thinkers, who have a strong political and social agenda. How to discuss about the political and cultural needs together, how to practice solidarity, support and inclusion? How to think about the internationalization in the time, which is marked by a flow of commodities and neo-liberal globalization? What does it mean to work and study internationally in the time of the art market and its accelerated modes of evaluation? Can we develop new temporal modes of working and thinking and how can we learn from each other?
Participants: The participants will be, among others, Dragana Alfirević, Miki Braniste, Ana Dubljević, Ida Daniel, Valeria Graziano, Viktorija Ilioska, Goran Injac, Katarzyna Kania, Marta Keil, Joanna Krakowska, Romuald Krężel, Bojana Kunst, Livia Piazza, Iulia Popovici, Goran Sergej Pristaš, Tanja Šljivar, Solidarity for Theatre, Swoosh Lieu, Biljana Tanurovska-Kjulavkovski, Zrinka Užbinec, Rok Vevar, Ana Vujanović.
Please note that some seminars and discussions are public and others are closed. Check our timetable for further information.

Ave Maria
der grosse tyrann (the great tyrant) is a feminist performance collective made up of Liliane Koch and Maude Hélène Vuilleumier that deals with feminine self-staging and self-presentation in a humorous way. In AVE MARIA, der grosse tyrann goes out in search for the most holy of feminine idols, the most portrayed woman in the world: Maria. They begin to investigate their own behavioural patterns.
Hail Mary, full of grace, blessed are you among women. You are written into me, a Western-Christian influenced woman. You are the idol that I never wanted, the mother, that I never asked for. You gave me my endless empathy, my acquiescence and the beguiling smile with my head tilted at an angle. But have you ever laughed properly? And what will we find, when we look under your royal blue skirt? Holy Mary, pray for us sinners who love to sin. Now and in the hour of our death. Amen.

Being With Sound Through The Tension Of Desire
How does decolonizing the personal and collective intimacy sound like?
Touching – an act of transmission – has become somewhat desensitized, associated with boundaries and relegated to the negative. Being With Sound Through The Tension Of Desire is a work that attempts to reappropriate touch and to celebrate inter-dependency, vulnerability, closeness, disorientation, and trust, as forms of collective decolonial resistance.
Two bodies will compose, perform and deconstruct sound through the use of touch as a primary compositional element, asking itself in the process - how touch can be decolonized and reclaimed as a form of care, connection and transmission, a positive reinforcement, a constructive act that surpasses the purely physical spheres, an act which in such a context is undeniably political.

Bird Bird, Touch Touch, Sing Sing - A Song For Dislocated Diasporic Bodies
The work "Bird Bird, Touch Touch, Sing Sing" celebrates inter-dependency, vulnerability, closeness, disorientation, and trust, as forms of collective decolonial resistance.
A quiet coup attempting to displace the structural imbalances, to disorientate geographies, and to find space for silenced narratives. An (auto)reflexive re-evaluation of the unquestionable hierarchy of values imposed unto Us, a living work which attempts to embody extantation – to persist on existing despite conditions that favour its imminent extinction. In this work, the performers attempt to create another reality - through touching, proximity, and movements, that is not pre-choreographed but created in the moment by the circumstances within the process of creating the sound and by the movements of the performers+audience becoming a collective body - a space of disassociation unloaded with the social constructs associated with the politics of touch found in the modern world and the geography associated with it. Where to choreograph, compose and perform in this case, goes beyond the narrow confines of artistic concepts and aesthetics, existing in both the space of the ethereal and the space of an immersive installative performance. To process feelings, thoughts and intentions on the peripheral spectrum between the knowing and the unknowing, Nguyễn + Transitory hope to be one of the few ways left to reconnect with lost magic.

Clap Hands! – how to disappear completely
I will break it down with an example. Your phone rings in the middle of the night and a machine made voice is saying: I’m gonna kill you in less than 5 minutes with a gun!
Which one is more important for you: staying alive or understanding who’s voice it is?
„Clap Hands! – how to disappear completely“ is a theatre machine which is developed and organized to become an artist itself and make theatre without demand. It will transform electric intensity into an artistic approach.

Correspondence #1 on the importance of time and place, the territory
A lecture-performance fruit of the collaboration between Li Lorian (Jerusalem) and Marc Villanueva Mir (Barcelona). What starts as a lecture on spatial conceptualization of utopian and dystopian thinking, transforms into a travel through personal archives, political statements, accents, screenshots, bookmarks, subtitles and voice-overs. Correspondence #1 aims to draw a visual and conceptual journey between Jerusalem, Barcelona and Gießen; a collage of memories, observations and representations of the multiple and complex realities we inhabit and that at the same time inhabit us.

DANSÖZ
*
The project Dansöz aims to locate ‘oriental dance(s)’ as a serious dance genre in the Western European art landscape and to develop an artistic positioning to it. The ‘belly dance’ is its central motif, including, among other things, the orientalist, eroticized and exoticized image of women and its detoxification from a feminist perspective. The aim is to create a space and a language of self-empowerment based on the ‘belly dance’ style and to bring it to the agenda of the dance scene as a ‘serious’ and/or ‘artistic’ and emancipated dance genre.

Die Kartoffel als Chance
The potatoe as a chance
we see in the potato field: the true fairy tale of the power of performance in 6 pictures. It comes to our heads: the dream of the power of the individual and the desire for moving of the masses.
The potato was foreign and obnoxious to Europeans. Famine also did not convince them to handle these dangerous tubers. Now two performers stand in the empty field and wonder. Before they can think of any action, they are overrun by an army of Colorado potato beetles ...
"If you have the feeling that you can not think about the events, do not make the mistake of trying to understand them."

DISKURS 2019 - NEVER AGAIN. ARTS/TALKS/THEORY
The DISKURS34-Festival will take place in Gießen from 7 to 10 November 2019. This years edition is entitled never again. art/talks/theory. The international festival has been organised for 34 years on a voluntary basis by students of Applied Theatre Studies independently operated by Kunstrasen giessen e.V. In addition to theatre productions and performative works, the festival includes installations, films, lectures and lectures and offers artists, scientists and audiences the opportunity to engage in lively debate through various discussion formats. The focus is on experimental works that give new impulses to artistic research, both on an aesthetic and on a content level.
never again can be understood as a claim, a slogan, an oxymoron, an imperative or a social agreement. The title connects two mutually exclusive temporalities: the conclusion, the negation and the prohibition, which resonate in never and the repetition and incompleteness, which are contained in again. We use this dynamic as a starting point to examine the manifold implications of never again within contemporary production in arts and academia.

P R O G R A M
In their video performance "Agitation", the Leipzig artists Julia Lübbeke, Francis Kussatz and
Alexander Klaubert examine current and historical forms of resistance and protest culture. In her work "PUKE LOVE", Italian artist Sara Leghissa addresses the physical dimensions of indignation and contradiction and interrupts everyday life with performative interventions.
Mareike Kajewski is a research assistant at the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Hildesheim. Her research interests include political philosophy, social philosophy and aesthetics. Her lecture "The Spontaneity of Revolutionary Action" develops the thesis that spontaneity as an experience of freedom in revolutionary action explains its form of execution and possibility.
In her performance "MEDUSA is GAIA", the Portuguese artist Sall Lam Toro decodes and updates the Medusa figure of Greek mythology from a queer-postcolonial perspective and questions the temporal structure of never again by means of repetition and re-signification. The Indonesian artist Kelvin Atmadibrata also negotiates within his performative installation "Forcing Hyacinth" the conflictive temporality of past and future, to which never again refers. The living sculpture designed by him refers to the ancient Greek mythological figure of Hyacinthus and interrogates memories and reflections on growing up. Jannis Steincke and Joschua Ben Pesch, two scientists of the "Rheinische Sektion der kompostistischen Internationalen" (Rhenish Section of the Compostist International), trace similar themes and in their lectures deal with the dimensions of heritage, responsibility and memory.
The video entitled "the[video]Flâneu® shoots Auschwitz" by Konstantinos-Antonios Goutos from Marburg puts the provocative thesis of a strolling camera walk through Auschwitz into space and in the resulting images addresses both the question of memory culture and the depiction of Auschwitz. Nina Rabuza studied philosophy and political science in Halle an der Saale and Berlin. In her lecture, she examines constellations of memory of National Socialist crimes in (Western) Germany. Starting from the design of the Dachau concentration camp memorial, she attempts to sketch the various meanings of memory after 1945. The focus is on the question of dimensions and conflicts of the demand "Never again!
never again, the Slovakian choreographer Alica Minarova takes on the challenge of declaring war on current inequalities in her dance piece "SAUDADE", in which she transfers classical movements from stripdance into new contexts and in this way questions a male gaze that has supposedly always been there. In her lecture performance "I PUT A SPELL ON YOU; DESCARTES; BECAUSE YOU MESSED UP MY LIFE ONCE", the Berlin artist and doctor Vera Piechulla examines the inherent power relations of the seemingly objective view of female anatomy in connection with this complex of themes. In her theoretical contribution "Feminist discourses on corporeality and deconstruction", Merve Winter discusses the apparent contrast between (de)constructivist and essentialist approaches using the example of medicine in relation to gender theories and shows where and how points of mediation between these two points of view can be found. Winter studied psychology at the Free University of Berlin. She is particularly interested in the connection between psychology and psychoanalysis from a socio-critical perspective and following critical theory.
Finally, the collective Avoec Performance, consisting of the Brazilian artist Luiza Moraes and the American artist Lori Baldwin, will thematize farewell in its lecture performance „Relic": How do we know that something is over, how can we say goodbye and how do we deal with different farewells? When do we know that something really can never happen again?

!! The performance might include references to abuse, violence, and sexualized violence. For the participants, we will negotiate personal boundaries before beginning, but for those listening to the live-stream, we can offer only the above mentioned warnings. !!
!! The performance itself will be on the second floor of a house with no elevator, so one must be able to ascend stairs (if this is possible through help – ie. carrying – we are more than willing). !!

en plein air – Ethnographies of the Digital
En plein air – literally painting outdoors – was a polemic against the white walls of the studio. The same exercise of leaving the atelier in order to observe was formulated by Bronisław Malinowski as the most fundamental requirement of ethnology. Engaging with the digital en plein air, the book unites essays outlining the authors’ experiences, interviews and recordings, poems, collages working on semi-fiction and scientific texts. Thereby, disparate definitions, forms, and fields of the digital collide.
The book is published at the occasion of http://warehouse.industries. Together with two of the authors we invite you to launch en plein air with us: Tilman Richter speaks about the soon-to-be digital self and Bryana Fritz performs Indispensible Blue.
Tilman Richter: She KNOWS no Hatred
Despite its ceaseless efforts to disguise its own nature: the internet is text-based. It’s a
diagram, a list of lists, a form of book-keeping that distinguishes between order and noise, now and then, the self and its possessions. The form in which the internet rearranges the networks and relationships we live by can be found in writing and reading long before social networks came to life as billion dollar companies. Reading the diaries of Merve publisher Heidi Paris and author Rainald Goetz, Tilman Richter attempts an ethnography of the soon-to-be digital self.
Bryana Fritz: Indispensible Blue
Folders are opened and closed, lines appear, boxes light up, colors and sounds plop up – a desktop poem unfolds. If software exerts a choreographic force on its users, how can dance be a way to escape the pre-programmed patterns? With Indispensible Blue and the various forms it takes, Bryana Fritz continues to explore the uncanny valley between poetry and dance on the everyday user surfaces. Everything looks and sounds extra generic, but then the gloss of exactly that comes up, entangled in the glitch of the cursor movement.

Entanglements a speculative Collection
Come, sit down, leave your tracks, follow the tracks of others and let yourself be intervowen in this collective-association-process:
We invite you to take a moment to step outside of the busy TM, sit down at our desk and to participate in a collective cluster of associations, words, main- and accessory sentences. While adding new things, and thriving on that what has been written before, we ask you to enrich this open document, which is also the forerun to a project-yet-to-come, it with your trains of thought. There is a short introduction at the beginning of the document, no worries, it's very easy. We count on you; come by and become entangled!

ESTHETICS OF THE CUT: SCHNITTSTELLEN, DISCRETIZATION, BORDERING MIT BEZUG AUF KÖRPER, AKTIONEN UND RÄUME.
Esthetics of the cut invites you:
on Sunday 7 July from 11 a.m. for a public rehearsal and on Sunday 14 July from 3 p.m. for the final presentation in the Georg-Büchner Saal.
The chosen presentation format makes use of aesthetic-formal ideas and technical-material demands of the visual arts, in particular of media installation art, and of the language of action, techniques of addressing and the performative discourse of contemporary theater. It uses spatial curation as well as a timeline that both assembles autonomous contributions: video installations, actions and hybrid forms of performance and technical setup.
With contributions by Herbert Graf, Nadine Jachmann, Maren Küpper, Milka Luhtaniemi, Jannis Wulle, and the participation of Liora Epstein, Lea König; curated by Susanna Schoenberg.
The contributions arise from the examination of the cut-image, theme, gesture and technical necessity of this project.

Exploded Goo
Simple warning:
It is possible you will come and find a head looking at its own ass from a far, flashing tiny eyes giving a dirty look, biting stingy lip that makes annoying sound, one big belly, nails that don’t work anymore, a bit of a dance performed for the imaginary cat and some robot leg kicking.
This performance is a personal wish to challenge a normative and linear perception of a dancer’s body on stage by reclaiming a monstrous one, a body of many, a body in-between. It is a choreography as an exploded machine, inspired by cut-outs in photomontages and monsters with flaws. Zrinka Užbinec, graduate of the MA program "Choreography and Performance", explores a chimeric and montage-like perception of the dancing body, embracing interruptions and glitches in her own dance.

FLUCH DER AKRIBIK
Over several months, ScriptedReality worked in Gießen with collaborators from various contexts. Together, they explored the connections between work, nationalism and migration. Their collaboration led to “Fluch der Akribik” (“Curse of the Meticulean”) – an evening between B-movie and pie, rough, completely dilettante and an asserted detournement of the similarly named Disney film. A ship appears one day in a small Hessian town, and the jobcenter promotes it as an extraordinary (re-)integration measure wherein everyone will be given a position. The ship loosely disguises itself as an art project and could be just as cursed as the ghostship from the Carribean. Together, the freshly chartered wo(men) set out on an adventure through the tempests, rehearsal stages and German bureaucracy, unclear whether the ship is salvation or curse. The only thing that is certain is that everything must be called into question and reconsidered.

In a museum in Paris, six tapestries from the early 16th century are on display.
Each of the six tapestries depicts a woman (sometimes two) with a unicorn on her left and a lion on her right. They stand on a grassy disc surrounded by red and thousand-flowers.
The unicorn’s horn is very long. So long, that it seems impossible for it to get its mouth close enough to the grass to graze.
We wonder - is it hungry?
Maybe the woman feeds it?
Or Is this what the flowers floating in the background are for?
Or will it, in a swift flick of its head, drive its horn through the lion, the woman, (the other woman), and eat them?

It could be something very minimal
"It could be something very minimal" is the long-term performative research collaboration between Viktorija Ilioska, Max Smirzitz and Patrick Faurot dealing with affective permutations and modulations of bodies and space. The project is fungal, growing, shrinking and reforming each time according to the demands of its milieu and the cross-tendencies of its assemblatic relations. It is their subjective intra-active being in reductionism, virtuosity, aesthetics, immersion, plasticity and cheapness. This time there is a laser show and a costume change.
The performance is presented in Kino Kultura - project space for contemporary arts and culture in the frame of the program "Art Politics Institution Body" organized by Lokomotiva - Centre for new initiatives in arts and culture.
It is supported by Goethe Institute in Skopje and the City of Skopje, North Macedonia.

Only if I Have Nothing to Cite, I Dance
I am sitting at the National Library in Jerusalem, trying to focus on my term-paper. Even though I sit still in front of Butler's writing on subversive mimetic acts, little drops of salty sweat run down my armpits. Is this the performative expression of Reading? An essay titled Diaspora: Generation and the Ground of Jewish Identity peeks at me from beneath a pile of notes, while a documentation of Arkadi Zaides' Archive is open in a new tab.
Perhaps it's just the summer heat in the Middle East.

PLAYBLACK
See, it’s not about races / Just places / Faces / Where your blood comes from / Is where your space is / I’ve seen the bright get duller / I’m not gonna spend my life being a color (Michael Jackson „Black or White)
“PLAYBLACK” deals with the ambivalent potential of the copy – as a tender gesture of tribute, as an expression of solidarity and as the provocative strategy of caricature. We love Jacko. We become Jacko. We indulge in the ambivalent possibility of temporarily becoming someone else. We venture to the boundaries of our prescribed identities and sound out the breaking points in the logic of representation. It’s showtime, baby. Step into the magic ball.

rp19 Rough Proposals
Sticky fingers in a hot pile of mud – getting your hands dirty. Other things grow here. You touch them because their textures allure you. Soaked with earthy scents your hands are wet now. They slide along systems of roots: a web: a thread: a link. You click on it.
A virus has no shape on its own. No self-sufficiency. Can’t grow. It hijacks to reproduce - a system takeover. Material collapsing into 0 and 1, breaking bodies down. Thrusting itself forward the virus plants the haunted, the hacked, the hybrid. It binds through contamination, infiltrates to infect – to affect.

rp19
is meshed in a decade of sediments. Leaking, unfinished, rough – they seep into this year’s edition: mutations taking over the tower.

Scores for yearning- The concert PREMIERE!
I would like to warmly invite you, together with my collaborators, to the showing of my Abschluss Projekt of MA CuP Programm (Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft). This performance is created within the frame of Hessian Theater Academy (HTA), in collaboration with Theater Neben Dem Turm in Marburg.
We are hoping to see you on the 18th and 19th of June (Tuesday and Wednesday !) at 18:00, in Studio 1, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, Frankfurt.
"This evening is a sensual and eccentric journey towards revealing different kinds of intimate desires of both performers and the audience. It consists in the creation of an acoustic ambiance of the space that intensively listens. The performers are contained in objects, the objects contain dancing bodies and sounds. They all have similar chaos in their heads: a series of animosities, comic memories, some daring longings, and obsessively recurring sounds and rhythms. Performers use their bodies to open up space where the visual will lose its dominance and expose the body that constantly tries to slip away from representation."

Sissy's Adventures in Liminalland
sweet-sour show starring Sissy, swinging sophisticatedly, sometimes softly, sometimes severely. Sissy shakes sexist shapes, simultaneously Sissy sucks S supremely. Sissy says, Sissy screams: “si! Sisterhood”. Sheepishly, she sings shifted swearings. She sees soft signs synchronizing spite. Superficially, Sissy´s surface suffers xenophobic synchronization. Still, seriously, Sissy soaks stupidity.

Study On Stones
For now it’s about stones, the body, organs, dark liquids, joints, abstract forms and imaginery landscapes. It started a few weeks ago when I found a stone in my parents kitchen. I never heard of „Hühnergötter“ before. They inhabit different places and various myths are told about them. This particular one came from Normandy, so I decided to travel there, bring eleven of them to my room. Now they are in PBII and we have to see what happens.

TAUSEND TODE, DIE ICH STERBE
We find countless reasons to be ashamed of ourselves. For bad breath, for unpleasant smelling sweat and the embarrassing sweat stains under the armpits. But we are not only ashamed of the body. Also our own age, poverty or origin can shame us.
Lisa Schettel, Laura Eggert, Constantin von Thun and Nils Weishaupt deliberately bring shame onto the stage. In a great research they shared personal shame experiences, exposed themselves to their own shame among each other, conducted interviews with friends and family, with researchers and experts.
