In a museum in Paris, six tapestries from the early 16th century are on display.

Each of the six tapestries depicts a woman (sometimes two) with a unicorn on her left and a lion on her right. They stand on a grassy disc surrounded by red and thousand-flowers.

The unicorn’s horn is very long. So long, that it seems impossible for it to get its mouth close enough to the grass to graze.

We wonder - is it hungry?

Maybe the woman feeds it?

Or Is this what the flowers floating in the background are for?

Or will it, in a swift flick of its head, drive its horn through the lion, the woman, (the other woman), and eat them?
