100 Advertisements
100 Advertisements is an ongoing project where I create advertisements for imaginary products or services that might “improve my life” (and yours!), during the coronavirus pandemic. The project started in March 2020, when Germany entered its first lockdown. Some advertisements are wishes for a better world; others are unfunny jokes from the darkest part of my soul! Together, they are my corona-diary, a personal documentation of these times from the perspective of an international student in Germany.

ATLAS' WIRBEL | CONTAINER
LOSE COMBO feat. Sonar Quartett After having to be postponed twice, the materials of LOSE COMBO’s most recent work has been stowed into digital containers. Some of which are now accessible on the web: as ATLAS' WIRBEL | CONTAINER. In April, the Reinbeckhallen in Oberschöneweide became a performative laboratory for LOSE COMBO’s cartographic experiment. Together with Sonar Quartett countless mythological, literary, etymological, anatomical and geographical entanglements of Atlas were explored. In their lectures, Claudia Splitt and Florian Feigl tell of remote volcanic islands and rare birds, of Greek gods, ancient historians and postmodern encyclopedias, referring to anecdotes and geographical descriptions. While the musicians of Sonar Quartett navigate through Jörg Laue's cartographic composition STRICH, based on the first Portolan map, the so-called Carta Pisana. The CONTAINER version of ATLAS’ WIRBEL invites its audience to browse through 9 to 17 minute sequences of materials and remixes that accentuate different aspects of the work. Insights to scores and text materials, video excerpts and tape recordings, as well as stagings of concerts and text performances. Instead of (or rather: bridging the gap to) a life performance, ATLAS' WIRBEL | CONTAINER will be unveiled on June 14th, 2021.

ask me twice
The Ensemble S201 and artist Kanade Hamawaki are going to present a film "frag mich 2 mal"(ask me twice) and bring art and new music out of their closed contexts: critical discussions with everyday life collide with balloon performances and screeching woodwinds. The question of the relationship between one's own and other worlds is posed and encouraged to speculate about life and death.

Aus dem Innenleben eines Staubsaugerbeutels
Dust: work or aesthetics? Dust is everywhere, autonomous – as gray dust mice or in smallest particles – it floats through our lives. As the color of all colors, it reveals itself to be a medium, material or disturbance – and fills vacuum cleaner bag after vacuum cleaner bag.
äöü take a closer look at the "Black Box" brand and dissect this dirty, grey and small-scale archive of our everyday lives. A search for the beauty of dust, for form and content, life and death, wage labor and gender, magic and engineering.

Body Boom Boom Brain (Vol. II) - no one escapes p*b*rt*y
During the Corona pandemic, something strange is happening in a theatre somewhere in Germany: the empty auditorium is hitting puberty. In their short thriller “Body Boom Boom Brain”, PINSKER+BERNHARDT invite (indeed!) everyone over the age of 12 to explore fucking p*b*rt*y as the ultimate brain-body-killer of all human conditions. The theatre becomes a physical laboratory, in which growing pimples and pubic hair take over, while the staff tries to get to the bottom of this absurd spectacle. Digitaler Mousonturm

Cotton flowers exist / Baumwoll blumen gibt es
The choreographic piece Cotton flowers exist brings into dialogue the actual with the virtual and connects the materiality of the world with the capacity to imagine and create non existing landscapes. More precisely it is an attempt to explore what connects the practice of drawing, choreographing and walking. It brings into conversation three different forms of writing in three different scales: the writing on the surface of a notebook by drawing, on the floor of a stage by choreographing/dancing and what it is written on bodies while walking/strolling outdoors. My intention is to bring into light these highly idiosyncratic inner landscapes that have been inscribed into drawings and translate them into artificial landscapes/room installations. Using my drawings as scores I tried to translate the two dimensional images into moving images. The relation of the body to the cotton was the main agency that made possible the embodiment of the drawings. In the choreographic work Cotton Flowers exist, cotton is used as a material whose aesthetic value becomes the experience of the performance. But actually cotton is a symbol with economic and social connotations. It is a material that signals class and race. It is a symbol of struggle. Therefore, bringing into the performance the social, economic and political context of the cotton production in order to avoid the hyper – aesthetization of cotton was an imperative ethical responsibility. In October 2020, I visited northern Greece where the cultivation of cotton is very common and together with the film maker Artemis Anastasiadou, we interviewed and filmed the cotton producers of the neighbourhood I grew up. The focus of this research was to give voice to the cotton producers of three different generations reflecting on the socio – economic and political conditions of their micro society.

Dancer in the Dark
„In the dark times of neoliberalism and rising neofascism – what else is there left (to dance)?“
„Dancer In The Dark“ is a second performance of trilogy „swan song dances“, first part „TEKHNE“ premiered at „Baltoscandal“ festival 2020. „Dancer In the Dark“ is a performance which weaves together text and dance and storytellingdance&dancestorytelling. Its a performance series which oscillates between deeply personal, mythical and political. If the banal and the daily can no longer (where they ever?) be left outside of the rehearsel stage (maybe now more than ever?) – choreographer askes herself what is she willing to „stage“ at these troubling times. Is she even willing to „stage“ anything anymore? Lets see.
Or maybe not.

Daydreaming the Archive
The guests are taken through an affective cartography of the city, woven between a lost and a regained sense of orientation: from someone’s narrative of childhood memories of war in Bosnia in a Frankfurt doll clinic to the conjuring of someone else’s Buenos Aires through opera singing in the streets of Bornheim, from redoing, at Frankfurt’s main cemetery, the steps walked many times in different latitudes to soundscapes that speak of lost, failed or awaited photographs from family and city archives.
Daydreaming the Archive is an (im)possible collaboration of a group of artists and post_migrants, who fail to meet as one group because of the pandemic and working conditions. Walking through the city they inquire into daydreaming as place-making in an urban space, how dislocated memories yield other ways of inhabiting the city, and how post_migrants become travelers in their own city.
It's possible to start at either Bornheim U Höhenstraße (only at 15:00) or at Hauptfriedhof (at 15:00 and 16:00).

deep net fake hole dark rabbit
deep net fake hole dark rabbit is a lo-fi-archeology of being-online, addressing the internet as a space of orientation and of missing out, of connection and exclusion. Reconstructing her browser history, Caroline Creutzburg searches for gaps in order to retrospectively write herself into the biography of the www. Wrestling with user-generated online culture and big tech’s teflon-capitalism, the work aims for a protest beyond dystopian mainstream-platitudes.

DER WAGEN. Ein Theater- Roadmovie durch Deutschland
In summer 2019, the theater ensemble buehnendautenheims undertakes an unlikely tour through Germany. It travels as a hiking troupe, with a 100-year-old hay wagon stage across the country - from Dautenheim in Rhenish Hesse to Berlin. In their luggage they carry the stage play "The Great Theater of the World" by Pedro Calderón de la Barca. Every day, the ensemble covers 40 kilometers; every evening, they perform in marketplaces, outdoor swimming pools, and in front of churches and castles.
The experiences of their journey are now transformed into a documentary theatrical Roadmovie. "DER WAGEN" offers an unusual glance at Germany, from the countryside to the city, from West to East, through the centuries.
With their specially built cinema bus, the buehnendautenheims repeat their journey from August 14 - 22, 2021. Along the itinerary of their baroque theater tour, they will once again stop at nine selected stations and show the experiences condensed into 90 minutes.
Each stop will also be shown in the film.
Popcorn and cold drinks will be available at the cinema store.

d-escoundering
Was ist Begegnung?

DISKURS 35
DISKURS is a festival at the interface between art and theory. Since 1984 it has been organized annually or biennially at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Gießen.
We confront the ongoing pandemic situation with the greatest possible permeability. Since the beginning of this crisis, the cultural scene has been riddled, conditioned, shaken and inspired by porosity. Therefore, this year we invite artistic, theoretical and conceptual positions that provide approaches to address the motto porous.
The diverse program of performances, installations, lectures and workshops will take place in hybrid form, both analog and digital, and invites citizens, students, art and culture professionals and researchers to exchange and discuss.
Let's Celebrate the Porous! Let's Stay Porous!

echoes of you(s)
echoes of you(s) is a collective drift, a temporary dislocation of the subject. It moves inside multi-layered temporalities and durations, leaking away from the present moment to unfold in the imagination of the viewer. Patterns erode away, leaving tenuous traces; they make tunnels across time (I think I’m adrift inside them). In echoes of you(s) Gry Tingskog and Amina Szecsödy weave together sculpture, embroidery, dance, sound and technology. In this meeting of choreography, performance and installation, they explore what happens to our bodies in the dark.

HAPPY HAPPY VINEYARDS
In 1931, two years before Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany, Carl Zuckmayer wrote the play Der Hauptmann von Köpenick, criticizing German militarism and authoritarianism. But in 1925 – when the NDSAP was re-founded, Hitler published his manifesto Mein Kampf and started to form a new movement that would later bring him to power – Zuckmayer premiered with Der fröhliche Weinberg a rough and light soap opera about intrigues and drunken love affairs in a farmers family.
Ragni Halle, Jakob Schnack Krog, Gregers Krogsleiven-Hansen and Simon Zeller take the play Der Fröhliche Weinberg as a starting point to examine on the notion of "fun" while facing the rising of new far right movements in their home countries Norway, Denmark, Poland and Germany.

hungry eyes festival 2021 (5th - 7th of February)
hungry eyes festival goes into the next round! The team of 13 cultural practitioners, theatre-makers and cineastes has made it their goal to interrogate the intersection between film, performance and installation art and is looking forward to the third and for the very first time ONLINE edition of hungry eyes festival from February 5th-7th 2021 on https://hungryeyesfestival.de/
This year over 770 submissions for short films, installation art works and performances from 62 countries reached the digital mailbox of the festival in the Hessian university city. In a collective process over the period of three months the entire team reviewed, sighted and discussed all the works and finally put together a program with over 40 participating artists* and collectives for hungry eyes festival 2021.
The festival is interested in artistic positions that place themselves at the intersection of film, performance and installation art. In addition to three short film programs, consisting of a total of 16 short films in the main category and seven short films in the so called ‘Trash Night, nine installation art works and performances have been selected that deal with the medium film in an interdisciplinary way. Also we are presenting different talk-formats together with the artists and the audience. The question of the gaze as well as perspectives of ‘looking’ and ‘being looked at’ are fine threads that connect the selected artistic works and weave a web of the diverse artistic approaches and disciplines. The complete program with all artistic contributions is presented in detail on our website: https://hungryeyesfestival.de/
Thanks to the support of numerous institutions such as HessenFilm und Medien GmbH, the Giessen Cultural Office, the Hessian Film and Media Academy, the Giessen Cultural Foundation and the Hessen Theater Academy, hungry eyes festival is once again able to offer free access to art and culture regardless of admission fees. more than one
Do you ever get this strange feeling that you are not alone, never really alone? That some dreams can become too familiar, that most places are already visited and can only be returned to. That you might sometimes not recognize yourself in the mirror, that it can be easier to see yourself in someone else. In »more than one«, four performers explore the boundaries between things too familiar and completely unknown, examine the space within regularly interrupted solitude and a collectivity that is never really accomplished, surfing on the rhythms created in collaboration between difference and sameness. In sharing the stories of the pasts, futures, and presents of the parallel universes, their reality subsides into daydreaming.

Project.Fail
In day-to-day understanding, to fail is to have a lack of success, deficiency of desirable qualities or being in a state of “not functioning”. To fail would also stand for disappointing oneself or others, and not achieving someone’s goals. To fail is therefore a consequence of a pre-existing right or wrong. Project.Fail is a piece composed by two humans, one machine and multiple viewers. Somewhere on borders between the virtual and analog worlds, the performers behave sometimes as humans and sometimes as avatars in a game of losing/gaining power and control. By relating to each other as well as to the invisible machine, they propose a situation for questioning the ways humanity lives and the choices that brought us to our current crises and failures.

Seufzer aus der Tonkabine
Multichannel Sound Performance.
In this acousmatic Wunderkammer of sound, we wander through bucolic landscapes, lost places, and after-hours sets. In the crackle of a record you hear a soft whisper trying to arouse you to buy a new tablet, the speaker whimpers in unison. A faceless face in between the wires. Bit phantom. All these moments will be lost in time, like.... - Granular synthetic raindrops, they pelt me.
CUT TO: An immortal Marlboro cowboy strolls through the Waste Lands of Caucasia. He inhales the smog of his cigarette©, holding it with thumb and index finger, thinking of Strawberry Fields. Vapor Noise.
This might not be the first time for you to hear something, but maybe to listen.

How does it feel?
How does it feel to live in a body that is mainly defined by others?
How does it feel when you realize there is no possibility at all to sneak through the narrow columns of the cage built by the patriarchal societies’ beliefs?
How does it sound? How does it look like?

S O UN D | | n g
S O UN D | | n g is a long durational performance that will be shown at TAC Berlin, as part of the project FEAR, NO FEAR. It reflects the experience of a friend’s death who, living in exile, died separated from his closest friends and relatives. Aware of the deep connections people hold despite physical distance, the work dwells on the collectivity of death.
Could conversation about such a sensitive topic contribute to keeping memory alive?
The work focuses on a repetitious quality of performances, as potential for "life after death".
During the duration of the performance, I will fold 99 origami rats. A symbol of hope for survival, but also gesture that prepares for death.
Created in the "Year of the Rat", it is a tribute to those people who died in hindsight of the last months’ confinement.
The project FEAR, NO FEAR focuses on the present global state of collective fear and anxiety and unfolds in three chapters at Times Art Center Berlin from April – July, 2021.
commissioned and kindly supported by TAC Berlin
The project FEAR, NO FEAR was initiated by Huang Xiaopeng and
Co-curated by Dorothee Albrecht, Antje Majewski and Stefan Rummel
The curatorial team invited artists across generations, from the 1960s to the 1990s, to present their works on the complex spectrum of themes mentioned above, with the artistic media spanning sculpture, installation, video, performance, painting and photography. The artists of diverse international backgrounds are predominately based in Berlin, as well as Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Hangzhou and the Pearl River Delta; one young performance artist is based in Yaoundé. Many of these practitioners have been exploring the theme of fear from their individual perspective for a long time.
In our current, complex realities, it is not unusual that fear takes hold of our bodies. We encounter difficulties breathing because of anxiety. This may originate in “objective” immediate threats and dangers, or in psychological factors. This condition leads to further anxiety about an uncertain and unpredictable future.

STICKY MATTER

tell me your searchwords
In the darkness of the blackbox, two women approach
each other with a camera. They are watching themselves, how they touch and caress their bodies, how they
experiment and play with different liquids. Smoldering, vibrant sounds are looming, an electric crackling
flashes up and descends.
"tell me your searchwords" is an exploration of two female bodies during
masturbation, an erotic experimental short film.

„These are a few of my favorite things“

Resuscitation Training
In this performance, the coming together of people is simulated as an emergency. So instead of preparing for an emergency, we meet to examine our coming together itself. We take apart gestures and positions and (re)assemble them anew. We sound out how we relate to each other and how we could relate to each other differently. A known situation becomes an unknown construction. Can we rehearse the serious case?

warp
It is not what you see, but how you see and when you can’t see. The gaps filled with imagination, the sensations storming and informing you, the imprints you hold on to, the drifting of your attention.
A lose thread, a missing link, a connection detached and rewired. Warped, then messed up, to get lost in yet another fabrication. Something moves there, suspended in a near distance.
warp turns on by turning off, the theatre inverted: the audience sits in pulsing light while the stage remains dark. Bodies move amongst reflective fabrics, casting the light back at them. Weaves wired with touch sensors whisper a cacophony of stories and sounds. Fingers slip and slide in-between bodies, materials, textures and technologies, weaving choreographies of DIY e-textiles, text, sound, images and codes – to warp the realities fabricated by them.
the weaves crafted by Amina Szecsödy, Chloe Chignell, Gry Tingskog and Rodrigo Andreolli
and coded and wired by Gry Tingskog
the sound is made by Amina Szecsödy, Gry Tingskog and Rodrigo Andreolli
warp is a cooperation between Gry Tingskog and Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, the MA in Choreography and Performance within the frame of Hessian Theatre Academy (HTA) with support from Kulturamt Gießen.

x Steps
When does time pass by extremely slowly? When extremely quickly? Although it always passes the same way – one hour, 60 minutes, 3600 seconds – not a single day goes by at the same pace as the one before it. After being able to show the media project - consisting of a performance, a short movie and an installation - within various international festivals over the last two years, we are happy to announce that after four more film festivals this year, our short movie is going to be exhibited within the Sidewalk Gallery at the Fountain Street Gallery in Bosten, USA! It was created and executed by Michelle Koprow and Laura-Marie Preßmar, who just founded the collective Koprow&Preßmar, in cooperation with Davida Brown.

Z0CK3N
EINE THEATERQUEST DURCH ANALOGE UND DIGITALE SPIELWELTEN
Let’s play!
