Animal Ecology Workgroup

Welcome to the Animal Ecology Working Group! We study the ecology and biodiversity of natural and human-modified systems at local and landscape scales. Our research focuses on evaluating the effects and interactions of abiotic and biotic drivers of biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and the long-term provisioning of ecosystem services across spatial and temporal scales.

We seek to understand the functioning of ecosystems around the globe, and to enhance the sustainability and resilience of ecological and social-ecological systems undergoing natural and human-caused transitions. As an international and interdisciplinary research group, we use a wide range of approaches to address these questions, including ecosystem modeling, experimental and observational ecology, environmental data synthesis as well as chemical, physical, and molecular biology techniques.
