Bachelor of Science
The Bachelor’s Degree is the first academic degree of the faculty 09 Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management after a standard period of study of six semesters. The degree qualifies towards practicing a profession and certifies an academically supported, practice-related qualification. Graduates can either apply directly for a job or can alternatively decide to acquire in-depth knowledge in a master programme. The faculty 09 offers four different Bachelor degrees. The language of instruction is German for all Bachelor programmes. International students need to proof a certain level of proficiency of the German language.

The Bachelor's Degree Programme Nutritional Sciences focuses on the concepts of a well-founded healthy nutrition for human beings of all ages. Students study the biochemical processes of organisms, the composition and effects of food constituents as well as the consumer behavior and nutritional patterns.

Structure of the Bachelor Programmes
The structure of all Bachelor programmes is similar. Each programme consists of 28 modules. Participation in 15 core modules is mandatory. 13 profile modules can be selected from the overall module catalogue of the faculty; some of these profile modules can, however, also be selected from within the module catalogues of other faculties of Justus Liebig University, Giessen. Three of the profile module can be completed as a professional internship. The Bachelor’s thesis CP correspond to two modules.
