Transregional Collaborative Research Centre SFB / TRR 79
The Collaborative Research Centre Transregio 79 (SFB/TRR 79) with the title „Materials for tissue regeneration within systemically altered bone“ is a supraregional interdisciplinary project and is promoted since July 2010 by the Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) (German Research Foundation). Besides the Giessen, Heidelberg and Dresden universities the German cancer research centre Heidelberg, the Leibniz Institutes for Solid State and Materials Research and for Polymer Research in Dresden the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden is participating. The leading responsibility resides in the JLU (designated speaker: Prof. Dr. Christian Heiß, speaker for the first research period: Prof. Dr. Dr. Reinhard Schnettler).
The objective of this interdisciplinary research alliance is to develop, analyse and test new bone substitute substances and implantation material for systemic bone disease.
