- Are you having trouble writing, focusing or motivating yourself at home?
- Do you tend to do well with external accountability?
- Does writing go easier when you're with others?
Then the virtual writing circle might be for you. In lieu of an actual writing meet-up, this is hopefully the next best thing.
We meet online for two hours of focused work using a Pomodoro timer. There will be four work sessions of 25 minutes each, interspersed by two short 5-minute breaks and one 10-minute break. The break times can be used to make tea, chat, take a screen break, etc.
Everyone works on their own project; there is no need to prepare or share anything or give feedback. You can theoretically also use this for focused reading, coding or any other kind of work on your PhD, but preference will be given to those who would like to work on their texts.
If you would like to take part, please register for the StudIP course to receive an access link to a recurring Webex meeting. You may join at any time throughout the semester, but participants are limited to 10 for connection quality purposes, so depending on long-term interest in this format you may be placed on a wait list.
