Graduate Research Groups
Sections are part of the programme of the Giessen Graduate Centre for the Humanities (GGK). They are bottom-up foundations of doctoral researchers who work in the field of literary and cultural studies and are subject to change according to researchers’ interests. The approach varies from group to group but it usually allows contributions from a broad range of disciplines. While some focus on reading seminal texts on literary and cultural theory, others organise workshops, lectures or conferences. The IPP office supports all projects with logistics, information and advice.
All members of the IPP are required to take part in activities of at least one of the Sections of their own choice throughout their period of study in Giessen. More information on the sections and their relevant speakers is available here.
GGK Working Groups
Furthermore, the GGK offers doctoral researchers the chance to establish working groups on topics of shared interest relevant to their dissertation projects. These working groups are student initiatives that are eligible for financial and organisational support (e.g. for conferences or collected volumes). Here you find a list of currently active working groups. Our junior research groups and working groups always welcome new members! If you are interested in founding your own working group, please contact for further information and proceedings.
