The aim of this two-part course is to introduce PhD students to specific time and project management tools that can help structure their dissertation work for success. In the first session, the basics of project management will be introduced and brought in relation to dissertation projects in the humanities. Participants will practice setting goals, creating Work Breakdown Structures, sequencing activities and setting deadlines. They will end the session with a concrete project plan for the next three weeks. The second session will take place after this three-week period. After reflecting on and adjusting strategies based on their practical experience, the group will discuss time management strategies (eliminating obstacles, setting priorities, finding balance) in more detail. Registered participants should send their current dissertation project time plans to Elizabeth Kovach no later than one week prior to the first session.

The course takes place as a hybrid event, with the possibility of the in-person and online participation.
