GCSC Stolzenberg Award Event

With the generous support of the Dr.-Herbert-Stolzenberg Foundation, this year, the GCSC is once more able to grant awards for the advancement of research merits to outstanding early career scholars in two categories: the Stolzenberg Award for Excellent Dissertation Projects in the Study of Culture and the Stolzenberg Award for Excellence in Higher Education Teaching by Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers.

Let's learn more about some of the impressive dissertation and teaching projects that your fellow post/doctoral researchers have developed. Some of you will know these projects quite well from colloquium sessions, research groups or other conversations; some of you might hear about them for the first time and get inspired to submit an application yourselves for the next round this summer. Either way, this will be a wonderful opportunity to take a moment as a community and take note of some of the outstanding work in the Study of Culture that is being done among our early career researchers. 

Traditionally, the presentation of the GCSC Stolzenberg Awards constitutes an integral part of our "Welcome & Graduation Ceremony". Since we unfortunately had to cancel this ceremony in November 2020 due to the current pandemic, we would like to celebrate our award winners in a separate virtual event and to present their outstanding projects to our community. 

This event will also allow us to come together at the end of the winter semester and raise our glass (if virtually) in a toast to all of your work and your contributions to our research community during the challenging year 2020.
