Ombudsperson of the JLU Giessen

The system to safeguard good scientific practice at the JLU and to prevent misconduct in science is regulated by the “Constitution of the Justus Liebig University for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice”.
This constitution includes the election of the JLU‘s ombudspersons, whose tasks (§ 8 of the “Constitution of the Justus Liebig University for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice”) are as follows:

• informing and advising members and associates of the JLU Giessen with regards to misconduct in science;
• addressing and clarifying pertinent manifestations;
• checking the plausibility of accusations and possible chances of clearing them up;
• requesting the preliminary examination procedure;
• supervising and counselling of also affected and informed persons after the conclusion of a formal examination procedure;
• documenting the events under consideration of the protection of personality rights of informed and affected persons
