Course of the Willem C. Vis Moot

Every year in October the moot begins with the publication of the facts of the case. Until December the teams have to submit the statement of claim. After that every team gets one statement of claim from another university which is their base for the pleading of respondent. After submission of the pleading of respondent the oral phase begins. During this time the team will compete against other universities in different pre-moots (e.g. in Edinburgh, Paris, Den Haag, Prague, Munich, Hamburg) and pleadings in law offices. In contrast to the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court, national semifinals do not take place in the Willem C. Vis Moot so that every team is going to travel to the finals in Vienna in April for about 10 days.

Because of the great support from the professorship and our sponsors the travel expenses and fees will be fully defrayed.
