Michael Böcher from Bio-Ecopoly visits TANNRE

The TANNRE team welcomed Prof. Dr. Michael Böcher (Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg), representing the cooperating partner Bio-Ecopoly, in Giessen on August 29. Both projects presented their current work and discussed the future of environmental research.

The meeting brought an interesting exchange between the two research projects, which are both part of the funding line “Bioeconomy as Societal Change” by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The TANNRE team thanks Professor Böcher for his visit and looks forward to future meetings and further cooperation.

“Political processes of bioeconomy between economy and ecology” (Bio-Ecopoly)  is a joint project of University of Hagen and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The research investigates subareas of bioeconomy which lead to conflicts of goals between environmental protection and economic development. It centers on questions of political design when dealing with conflicting goals: on measures of bioeconomy policy in the field of tension between economy and ecology. Various dissemination activities help to anchor the research findings permanently in science and practice. Annual transdisciplinary status workshops accompany the project and ensure the transfer of knowledge between project and bioeconomy practice.
