SDG Research Symposium in Utrecht

Joining the fully virtual SDG Research Symposium GlobalGoals2020 hosted by Utrecht University, the TANNRE project presented its paper "Never-Ending Hunger? Norm Conflicts and the Implementation of SDG 2 in the Global Food Regime Complex" on June 11, 2020.

As part of the panel "Implementation 2: International Law and Norms" chaired by Yixian Sun (University of Bath), research assistant Magdalena Tanzer presented the TANNRE paper. Further contributions to this panel were presented by Fergus Green (Utrecht University), Salla Rentala (Finnish Environment Institute) as well as Emmanuale Doussis (University of Athens) and Ilaria Espa (Università della Svizzera Italiana). Louis Kotzé (North-West University, South Africa) discussed the papers.

The fully virtual SDG Research Symposium GlobalGoals2020 addressed six broader research streams: 1) Implementation; 2) integration; 3) inclusiveness; 4) integrity; 5) interlinkages; 6) indicators and methods. The symposium focused on research that explores the impact of the SDGs as an example for global goal-setting as a mechanism of global and national policy-making.
