Technical Agency - A minimal Theory of Mind

A minimal theory of mind is “minimal” in the sense such that constraints of the world (e.g. observability or relevance) are lowered, as well as necessary conditions of agents’ (e.g. rationality standards).

Together with Prof. Dr. Holger Lyre (Institute of Philosophy, U Magdeburg), new structures of agency shall be developed that, on the one hand, are suited for a “minimal” theory of mind, and, on the other hand, allow empirical testing due the explicitness of the models. These tests are bounded to the SFB/TR 62 (Magdeburg-Ulm): A Companion-Technology for Cognitive Technical Systems. Here, a minimal theory of mind could be interesting in man-machine-interaction, e.g. in modeling dialogues.
