150 Participants - Successful Bunsen Colloquium „Solid State Batteries II – From Fundamentals to Application“ from November 23rd – 25th

The second Bunsen Colloquium on solid state batteries took place from Wednesday to Friday, November 23rd to 25th, in Frankfurt (House of Logistics and Mobility, Gateway Gardens). It attracted about 150 scientists from both Academia and Industry and was considered as highly successful by the participants. Both oral contributions and posters showed that the field of solid state batteries develops fast. While it is still a long way to properly judge the technological impact, the fundamental studies already deal with full cells, with electrode characteristics and degradation, but also with improved solid electrolytes.

The meeting was jointly organized by Deutsche Bunsen-Gesellschaft für Physikalische Chemie, Materialforschungszentrum Gießen (LaMa), Fachgruppe Festkörperchemie der GDCh and Deutsche Keramische Gesellschaft. The conference chairs were Prof. Dr. Olivier Guillon (FZ Jülich), Dr. Pascal Hartmann (BASF SE), Prof. Dr. Jürgen Janek (JLU Gießen/KIT) and Dr. Torsten Ochs (Robert Bosch GmbH).
