Project title |
BONARES Centre for Soil Research, Subproject “Long-term Experiments” |
Short description |
Long-term experiments (LTE) provide valuable data on the status of arable soils as well as on the dynamic and potential of biomass yields of crops influenced by long-term different management practices. Based on a selected number of ongoing LTE that include studies on previous crops, organic and mineral fertilization and soil tillage, extensive investigations on soil-plant interactions are carried out. The objective of the study is to identify soil and climate parameters that are relevant for biomass yields and for the resilience of soil-plant systems. In addition, the findings of the study are used for the validation of current plant and soil models focussed on the importance of soil functions for better use of soil resources. |
