Cooperative Postdoc Programme
The GGL postdoc program supports postdocs on their career path to professorship and prepares them for their future tasks.
The postdoc program "Career development for postdocs" (Karriereentwicklung für Postdocs) is a cooperation between the Giessen graduate centers GGS and GGL and the Marburg Research Academy (MARA)
How can I benefit from the program?
Postdocs can benefit from their participation in the program in multiple ways:
1. As a participant you can gain important competences, which are indispensible for a professorship and for a productive work environment during a future professorship.
2. Certificates of attendance are a proff of the acquired competences and can be used for your application.
3. It is an excellent opportunity to benefit from networking opportunities within your own university and beyond with postdocs in Giessen and Marburg.
Who can participate in the program?
At JLU Giessen: Postdocs from all faculties covered by the GGS and GGL, who are interested in a scientific career. To participate in this program please contact us at postdocs.

What is included in the GGL postdoc program?
Workshops and events
Together with the GGS and the MARA, the GGL is offering workshops in order to support their postdocs on their path to professorship. The program is divided into a "desicion phase" and the "path to professorship". Both parts will be accompanied by specific workshops. Details on the workshops are posted in our Workshop - Calender or can be found at MARA.
On-the-job teaching experience
Teaching experiences are a valuable resource for your scientific career. As a young scientist in the GGL you have the possibility to gain these experiences during practical courses, workshops or by teaching your own courses about your preferred topic. These courses can be offered in a specific section or for all members of the GGL. If you are interested in offering your own course and gain teaching experience please send your teaching idea to us at postdocs.
