 Because of his unique and special approach to PowerPoint presentations, he was invited to give his award-winning workshop at many international universities and conferences. So do not miss the opportunity to be a part of this workshop: You will explore how slideware such as PowerPoint and Keynote can be used with imagination, creativity and innovation that keep your audience — whether students or colleagues — fully engaged!

Trainer: Barry T. Hinton, PhD, is Professor of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine as well as instructor at the UVA School of Nursing. Prior to that, he held various notable positions e.g. at the Max-Planck Institute for Biophysics in Frankfurt a.M. (Germany), at the University of Cambridge (UK) and at the University of Virginia (USA). He is winner of numerous awards in the field of research as well as teaching.

Aim: Bullet-point-laden slides seem to be norm, but is this the most effective way of getting your points across? We will examine ways to improve the design of your slides to tell a story that promotes learning and engagement. In addition, we will discuss the virtues and vices of presentation software: When is PowerPoint appropriate for your presentation and when does it promote “Death by PowerPoint”? Be prepared to be an active participant in the discussions with speaker Barry T. Hinton.
