Ludwigstr. 23, 35390 GiessenPATHWAYS TO ACADEMIC CAREERS FOR LIFE SCIENTISTS
Have you started thinking about what you will do after graduation?
Even though you currently spend considerable time in the lab, planning your future career is an extremely important step during your studies.
Every year the GGL picks one topic out of the multitude of options that you will have after obtaining your doctoral degree. This time we will look into the academic career path, starting with the options for post doc positions and major funding organisations who might pay for that. We will also look at different job profiles in universities and other German research institutions.
Our 5th GGL Career Day is your chance to gain valuable information about academic career paths and will help you to make your own career decisions.
The guest speakers, some of them holding positions at the JLU, all have a background in the life sciences and started an academic career after their doctorate. Each of them will be sharing their experiences on entering the workforce as a postdoc and their further way into academia.
The successful career path into academia often starts with a successful application for a research grant or postdoc position. Therefore, the GGL welcomes guest speakers from major funding agencies.
Join us to discover the fascinating world of academia!
The GGL Career Day is open to all faculties of the JLU, and external guests are also welcome to attend.
