Unterhalb dieser oberen Leiste schliesst sich die Hauptnavigation an. Unterhalb der Hauptnavigation befindet sich der Inhaltsbereich. Die Feinnavigation findet sich - sofern vorhanden - in der linken Spalte. In der rechten Spalte finden Sie ueblicherweise Kontaktdaten. In the GGL, doctoral projects are embedded in topic-oriented research. Admission is international, and teaching is carried out in the English language. In association with the GGL the medical faculties offer a PhD – MD/PhD programme.

Careers in Academia or Industry

There are a lot of choices to make on your way finding your dream job. Especially the choice between a career in academia or the industry is a key point. If you struggle to make the choice what is best for you or if you just want to get an overview about the many possible paths then you are welcome to join us on our 8th Career Day. Doctoral candidates as well as master students from the life sciences are invited!

We have invited speakers with different positions from both academia and the industry. You will also have the chance to meet former GGL members who are now in interesting positions, and will be willing to share their first-hand experience.

As we want you to be best prepared for your career entry, we will also offer CV checks in English or German.


The GGL Career Day is open to all faculties of the JLU as well as to external guests! Our programme is designed for doctoral students from the Life Sciences, but all other interested audience is cordially invited as well.

For GGL members: The Career Day is part of the Doctoral Development Programme (DDP). Attending the whole day will be credited with 10 CP.
