As all other studies, the doctoral studies come along with costs. Before starting your doctroal studies you should organize and plan how you can finance those three years of studying. On this page we collected various oportunities how you could finance your degree.
- DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service)
- There are numerous funding opportunities for foreign doctoral candidates in Germany. The DAAD is Germany’s largest scholarship provider – especially to doctoral candidates from abroad. Just last year, the DAAD awarded scholarships to more than 2,900 international PhD students in Germany. There are numerous foundations and other funding and research or-ganisations which also support and finance highly-qualified foreign doctoral candidates.
- Johannes Hübner Foundation
- Research and development are important factors of an ongoing progress. To support these factors and to ensure a worth living future for the next generations, the Johannes Huebner foundation encourages and emphasizes the importance of supporting research and development.
- BMBF StipendiumPlus
- StipendiumPlus is more than just a scholarship and more than just one scholarship opportunity. StipendiumPlus is a union of twelve organizations for the promotion of young talent which have come together under the umbrella of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to provide support to students and young researchers with special talents.
- Funds by the Chemistry Industry
- The most important criterion: quality. This is why the association of the chemical industry supports excellent junior researchers, projects with high standards and assists schools in improving the lessons.
- Peter und Traudel Engelhorn Foundation
- The Peter and Traudel Engelhorn foundation awards outstanding junior researchers and PhD students with a two-year grant.
- Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds
- The Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds awards PhD fellowships to outstanding junior scientists who wish to pursue an ambitious PhD project of approximately 3 years in basic biomedical research in an internationally leading laboratory.
- Stipendienlotse
- The Stipendienlotse (loosely translated: scholarship pilot) is a platform provided by the federal ministry of education and research (BMBF) where one can find a suitable scholarship on the basis of individual criteria.
