FlexNow and registration for examinations

Each module examination requires registration. There are two possibilities to register:

1. Online application via the examination management system FlexNow. Pay attention to the examination periods and deadline for registration.

2. You can register or deregister by filling in the standard paper forms, if for some reason you are not able to register online. These forms must be signed and handed in to Ms.Beate Ackermann at the Examinations Office only within the registration period. Forms for registartion and deregistration can be found under link Forms.

Examination periods

There are three examination periods for module examinations:

  1. First examination period: generally the first week after lectures end.
  2. Second examination period: generally in the last week before the lectures of the next semester.
  3. Third examination period (only for repeat examinations): generally in the fourth week of lectures in the next semester. You cannot register yourself for examinations in this period. It is reserved only for repeat examinations, so registration is done automatically.

Transition Management students need to register for the first examination period.

The examination periods are determined once a year.

Withdrawal from an examination

Deregistration from a given module examination is to be effected via FlexNow. Withdrawal is possible only during the announced deadline (see homepage of the Examination Office).

In case of problems with FlexNow, deregistration is also possible by filling in the paper form by the deadline und submitting it to the Examination Office by Ms. Beate Ackermann

Withdrawal from a second repeat of an examination

It is possible to apply in order to postpone the second repeat of a module examination.

Repeat Examinations

Repeat examinations can be taken in the second or third examination period.

The third repetition of a twice failed module examinations is possible in maximum four modules.

If you fail one or more examinations for personal reasons for which you cannot be held accountable, you will need to repeat these examinations in the following examination period.

If, for health reasons, you are unable to take an examination, you will need to provide a doctor's certificate and submit this certificate together with the supplement sheet to the Examination Office.
Doctor's certificates handed in after the deadline will not be accepted and exam will be automatically considered as failed. The certificate is accepted when the change of the examination date is visible in Flexnow.

Important: You will be automatically registered for the second examination date. You will not receive extra notification.

Grade Improvement

An examination that has been passed can be repeated once more in order to obtain a better grade. The number of such examinations is limited to two modules.

The requirement for this is that a student took the first examination in this module according to his/her schedule of the courses. The grade improvement should be done during the next examination in this course.

Grade improvement should be announced in the Examination Office in a paper form.
