17.02.2021 - SDGnexus Network launches new Working Paper Series to disseminate findings quickly

With the goal of making research findings quickly available to the public and engaging in ongoing debates, the SDGnexus Network established a new publication format. The first two volumes of the SDGnexus Network Working Papers (WPs) focus on the sustainability trade-offs in the livestock sector of Central Asia, one of the Network’s two focus regions.

In WPs 1 and 2, SDGnexus Network researchers Sarah Robinson and Martin Petrick examine how current trends in livestock production in Central Asia might create conflicts among the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The two publications complement each other, as WP 2 suggests a training course outline that builds on the insights of WP 1.

SDGnexus Network Working Papers are open for authors from all disciplines focusing on the SDGs and the trade-offs among them. The network partners are based in Latin America and Central Asia. Prospective authors may contact the technical editor Christoph Funk for details on the publication process. The Working Papers will be available on the Network’s website and through academic repositories.

The SDGnexus Network, supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is a global community of universities, research centers, and stakeholders that aims to strengthen higher education for enabling effective and innovative contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.  SDGnexus Network is based at the Center for international Development and Environmental Research (Zentrum für internationale Entwicklungs- und Umweltforschung, ZEU) of Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany.

The SDGnexus Network Working Papers are available on the Working Paper Section of the SDGnexus Network.
