Entry to Germany

How can international students, doctoral candidates, and researchers from third countries enter Germany?
International students, doctoral candidates and researchers can generally enter Germany. Depending on the country of origin and country of entry, specific requirements and regulations may have to be observed. If applicable, formal ties to JLU must be proven by a certificate of study or an admission agreement. The German Federal Police publishes the current regulations on its website. Please note that the quarantine regulations of the Federal State of Hessen apply regardless of individual entry possibilities. Depending on the country or region from which the entry is made and the duration of stay there, this provides for specific regulations with regard to the required testing for SARS-CoV-2, possible testing procedures and the existing quarantine obligation. Therefore, please inform yourself about the current regulations for Hessen on the website of the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration. Information on risk areas and testing procedures can be found on the website of the Robert Koch Institute.

The entry to Germany must also be indicated by an online registration.
