Important Information of the International Office for International Students of JLU
Due to the nationwide regulation, entry to Germany with a visa for first-time entry is not possible from 17 March onwards, initially for 30 days. Third-country nationals with a long-term right of residence (residence title or long-term visa) will be permitted entry. You can find more information on entry regulations on the website of the Federal Police:
We ask for your understanding that we as a university have no influence on the entry possibilities of students. If you have any questions, please contact the authorities. In due course, we will examine how students can be admitted to JLU. New arrival dates for the winter semester should be sought where possible.
At the moment, JLU is in basic operation. As things stand at present, the summer semester 2020 will begin on April 20, 2020. In the first weeks of lectures, teaching will take place largely without classroom teaching, primarily using digital formats.
Detailed regulations and current information on JLU in times of the corona crisis can be found here: www.uni-giessen.de/coronavirus/index.html.

We hope to see you soon at JLU. We will keep you informed about any new developments.
