Workshop: Getting a Job in the Private Sector - Transition from Academia

This workshop is aimed at those who intend to find a job in the private sector. Those who have previously worked in academia will face some unknown hurdles. We will talk about the differences between academia and the private sector and about what is important for the transition from academia. With regard to the application process for getting a job in the private sector, you will receive information on which skill-sets are important. For newcomers, it is interesting to know which companies exist, of which you already know and which are suitable for you.

The workshop will be guided by the following questions:

  • Looking for a job in the private sector?
  • What is different about the private sector?
  • What kind of skill-sets are they looking for?
  • What will be attractive for them?
  • Which companies have you heard of and which not?
