Prof. Dr. Eduard Arriaga’s research is of interdisciplinary nature. He engages in topics such as racial representations, language and technology, reading practices in the digital age, digital materiality and non-materiality, digital humanities, black digital humanities, diversity and inclusion in the digital age as well as Afrodescendant cultural productions. Prof. Arriaga is one of the first to focus on “Afrolatin digital humanities”. His latest publication Afro-Latinx Digital Connections deals with different uses of digital technologies, tools and platforms by Afro-Latinx communities and especially by groups outside of academia. The book is the first of its kind, as so far, the topics it deals with have been ignored within the field of digital humanities. Afro-Latinx Digital Connections includes research articles, essays and interviews with different practitioners from the Afro-Latinx community and African diaspora in Latin America.
