Das Leibniz-Institut für Europäische Geschichte (IEG) in Mainz vergibt ein achtmonatiges Stipendium für Promovierende oder ein sechsmonatiges Stipendium für Postdocs (m/w/d) im Bereich Digital Humanities.
Förderziel
Die Förderung ermöglicht es Ihnen, ein Forschungsvorhaben zu konzipieren oder fortzuführen, in dem Sie mit Methoden der Digital Humanities eine Fragestellung verfolgen, die in einem Zusammenhang mit der Erforschung der historischen Grundlagen Europas steht. Besonderes Interesse besteht an Projekten, die an laufende Forschungen des IEG inklusive der aktuellen Forschungsprojekte des Bereichs Digitale Historische Forschung | DH Lab anschließen. Sie haben am IEG die Möglichkeit, sich mit den Forschenden in diesem Bereich auszutauschen und mit ihnen zusammenzuarbeiten.
Rahmen
Das monatliche Stipendium beträgt 1.350 Euro für Promovierende und 1.800 Euro für Postdocs. Zusätzlich kann eine Familien- bzw. Kinderzulage beantragt werden. Das Stipendium ist an die Präsenz- und Residenzpflicht in Mainz gebunden. Sie nehmen am wissenschaftlichen Leben des IEG teil (u.a. an den wöchentlichen Kolloquien), und es wird erwartet, dass Sie Ihre Arbeit mindestens einmal während Ihres Stipendiums vorstellen. Gute Kenntnisse der englischen Sprache sind Voraussetzung.

The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz awards one fellowship for a period of eight months for doctoral students or one fellowship of six months for postdocs in the field of Digital Humanities.
Aims
The fellowship supports international doctoral students or postdocs who wish to carry out their own research project using Digital Humanities methods. There is particular interest in projects that are linked with ongoing research at the IEG as well as current research projects of the Digital Historical Research Unit | DH Lab. At the IEG, you will have the chance to closely collaborate with the researchers in this Lab.
Offers and Requirements
The monthly stipend is € 1,350 for doctoral students and € 1,800 for postdocs. Additionally, you can apply for family or child allowance. During the fellowship you are required to reside at the Institute in Mainz. You will actively participate in the IEG's research community and the weekly colloquia, where we expect you to present your work at least once during your fellowship.
