STIBET Teaching Assistantships

Together with JLU’s International Office, the GCSC has secured funds for teaching assistantships from the DAAD’s STIBET program. The program is designed to help our international GGK members gather teaching experiences within the German academic system. Teaching skills are an integral part of your professional profile if you wish to pursue an academic career, and finding the opportunity to teach can be especially challenging for non-German early-career researchers. The Teaching Centre at the GCSC therefore encourages you to design your own teaching projects, gain teaching experience, and get paid for your teaching assistantship!

Please note that the STIBET Teaching Assistantships are exclusively for our international members who have received their BA and MA degrees (or equivalent) outside of Germany. We welcome applications from both doctoral and postdoctoral international researchers! Please find further information on the STIBET programme website.

PCMO Postdoc Fund

The Postdoc Career and Mentoring Office supports postdocs at Giessen University with individual mentoring sessions as well as the Postdoc Fund, where you can apply for travel grants and financial support for other expenditures. We strongly encourage you to make use of this offer and submit your applications, especially for larger sums. The applications will be assessed by a steering committee, consisting of representatives from all graduate centres at JLU (GGK/GCSC, GGL, GGS) as well as ZfbK. Please find further information on the PCMO’s website
