The Reading Club shall meet again on Tuesday, October 22nd at 6.15 pm in room B340 to discuss Margaret Atwood’s Cat’s Eye (1988). You’re a DOG lover? – Relax: Cat’s Eye does not hold what it promises. It’s an artist’s novel and deals with childhood traumata. Come and help us survive this feminist highlight!
Our good old-fashioned Reading Club provides a setting in which the “classics” are discussed in an informal way. This was inspired by three observations: one, there are way too many canonical literary works that we haven’t read – but probably should; two, it might be more fun to engage with these texts when we actually get the chance to discuss our reading experience afterwards; three, despite our passion for visual media, it is sometimes nice to return to the written word.
We usually meet once a month. Drop in for just one meeting, or two, or all! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at maren.walinski@anglistik.uni-giessen.de.
We’re looking forward to seeing you and until then, have fun reading!
