Arboreal Entanglements: Human, Nonhuman, More-than-Human

GCSC - JLU Giessen

June 19–21, 2024

In June we are diving deep into the entanglements between human,
nonhuman and more-than-human worlds. Our interdisciplinary conference
promotes "arboreal entanglements" as a point of entry to bring together
recent theoretical work and interdisciplinary scholarship on the complex
relations among human, nonhuman, and more-than human realms, drawing
on the concept of entanglement developed by such scholars as Donna
Haraway, Bruno Latour, Isabelle Stenger, and Anna Tsing. We are very
pleased to organize this conference together with an expert on arboreal
humanities and current Distinguished Research Fellow at our centre,
Prof. Richard Grusin and with a contribution by artist-scholar researcher
and visiting fellow at our centre, Sarah Bird (UC Santa Cruz).
