Coarse groups and their coarse actions

Coarse groups are group objects in the category of coarse spaces. The main goal of this talk is to explain what these words mean, give examples and point to connections between the study of coarse groups and various more classical topics. As an application, I will show how this language leads to a rather elegant proof of a widely generalized version of the Milnor-Schwarz Lemma.
