Articles submitted to BioMed Central will be covered by the DEAL contract with Springer Nature from 1.8.2020. Through the DEAL contract, JLU authors acting as corresponding author will be granted a 20% discount on article processing fees.

PLEASE NOTE: The Submission Code that was previously used to submit items to BMC can no longer be used after 8/1/2020. In addition, BMC membership should no longer be selected in the submission process on the BMC Payment Options page.

After your article has been accepted for publication, Springer Nature will ask you to confirm your institutional affiliation.

The Open Access Team will be notified of articles assigned to JLU and will then contact you regarding billing.

For APCs up to 2.000 € the JLU OA publication fund covers 50% of the costs. APCs above 2.000 € can be supported by JLU funds with 1.000 € (incl. VAT). As junior scientist in their PhD process or with a PhD-graduation that is not older than five year the JLU OA publication fund covers 75% and a maximum of 1.500 €.
