For 2023

JLU participates in a contract with CUP according to the Publish & Read model (contract period: 2022-2024). Thereafter, JLU authors are entitled to publish in CUP journals free of charge. The publication opportunity for Corresponding Authors of participating institutions has been extended from hybrid journals to Gold Open Access journals. The range of article types that can be published in open access has also been expanded. In addition to Research Articles, Review Articles and Rapid Communications, Brief Reports and Case Reports will also be considered in the future. A list of journals can be found here.


As an author, you must go through the full registration process for Open Access publishing. At the end of the process, Rightslink, the system that controls billing, checks whether costs are waived based on the appropriate institutional affiliation. If appropriate eligibility is detected, then the price goes to zero.
