The JLU participates in a Publish & Read transformative agreement with Karger 2021-2023.

Publishing in a hybrid Journal

JLU corresponding authors can publish articles in hybrid Karger journals open access without additional costs. The following article types are considered: research articles, systematic reviews, case reports meta analyses and method articles. The date of acceptance is the relevant date to estimate if an article can be considered for the year range 2021-2023.

Publishing in Gold-OA-Journals

JU corresponding author are granted a 15% discount on the APCs in Gold-OA-Journals by Karger. Articles in Gold-OA journals can get support by the JLU open access publication fund.

APCs above 2.000 € can be supported by JLU funds with 1.000 € (incl. VAT). As junior scientist in their PhD process or with a PhD-graduation that is not older than five year the JLU OA publication fund covers 75% and a maximum of 1.500 €.
