The EUA Autumn Conference in Giessen will address opportunities and challenges that arise from the internationalisation and globalisation of higher education – also in the light of the present economic crisis. The conference, entitled Internationalisation beyond Europe’s Frontiers: Enhancing Attractiveness through Global Partnership and Cooperation, will focus on world-wide research and education cooperation and partnerships. It will address how European universities develop partnerships around the globe, highlight best practice examples for successful cooperations, and illustrate strategies for individual institutions. A series of forums and plenary discussions held in the Main University Building will enable participants to discuss and debate these issues.
EUA represents European Institutions of Higher Education with over 800 members in 46 countries. Members of the Association are European Institutions of Higher Education involved in teaching and research, national associations of rectors – including the Association of Universities and other Higher Education Institutions in Germany (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz – HRK). 63 German Higher Education Institutions of (58 universities and 5 universities of applied science) are members of the EUA.
