A seminar for Post-Docs
October 30, 2018, 9 am–4 pm
Location: Justus Liebig Universität Giessen, GGL, Leihgesterner Weg 52, Seminar room 24
Dr. Dirk Palm has been teaching soft skill seminars for graduate und post-doctoral students since 2001. For the past ten years, he has regularly contributed to the seminar program of the GGL. Having received a doctoral degree in Modern History from JLU in 2000, he has pursued a career in publishing. Since 2006, he runs his own publishing house, Palmedia Publishing Services, in Berlin.
Objectives / Intended Learning Outcomes:
A researcher will find him- or herself in a position where he or she doesn’t know how to proceed. It is crucial to know about techniques how one can define new ways which lead to good solutions.
This seminar introduces creativity techniques for scientists. It shows that many solutions can be found in collaboration with others, if people agree to certain rules and are introduced to the tools provided. It also shows that creativity has influence on the way how we look at science and at life itself.
