Members of the SFB 1213 and everybody who is interested
The progress of the project "Analysis of ventricular hypertrophy under physiological and pathological conditions in the zebrafish model" will be presented by Dr. rer. nat. Sven Reischauer.
Moderate aerobic exercise is beneficial to patients with right ventricular (RV) hypertrophy in pulmonary hypertension (PH). We postulate that 1) differences in angiogenic capacities of the right vs. left heart account for the differences in cardiac adaptation to enhanced afterload, and 2) physical exercise has a function beyond a direct effect on the RV by circulating factors from outside the heart. We will analyze the secretome of the skeletal myotome induced by physical exercise and dissect its signaling properties to the heart in a zebrafish model. Promising factors will further be deciphered for their potential to prevent cardiac maladaptation under PH conditions in mammalian models.
Everybody who is interested is very welcome to join our seminar series.
The seminars are taking place every second Tuesday from 18:00 - 19:00.
