The progress of the project "BioCTEPH - Biobank of human right ventricular tissue and blood specimens from CTEPH patients" will be presented by Dr. Christian Troidl from the Kerckhoff Heart and Research Institute.

Project description:

Patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) develop right ventricular (RV) hypertrophy in response to enhanced afterload, with subsequent RV failure. Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) provides a putative cure for these patients, with subsequent recovery of the RV. We will use the PEA program of our consortium to establish a biobank of RV tissue and blood specimens from CTEPH pre- and post-PEA, combined with extensive phenotypic data. This biobank provides RV tissue and blood samples to several CRC projects, offering the unique opportunity to compare human RV remodeling in response to PH with its reversal upon unloading the RV.

Everybody who is interested is very welcome to join our seminar series.
The seminars are taking place every second Tuesday from 18:00 s.t. - 19:00.
