Join the Reading Club for THE ISLAND OF DOCTOR MOREAU
The Reading Club shall meet again on Wednesday, June 26 at 6.15 pm in room B340 to discuss H.G. Wells’s The Island of Doctor Moreau (1896). The novel about mad scientist Dr. Moreau is supposedly one of Well’s best-known books and a classic of early science fiction.
Our good old-fashioned Reading Club provides a setting in which the “classics” are discussed in an informal way. This was inspired by three observations: one, there are way too many canonical literary works that we haven’t read – but probably should; two, it might be more fun to engage with these texts when we actually get the chance to discuss our reading experience afterwards; three, despite our passion for visual media, it is sometimes nice to return to the written word.
We usually meet once a month. Drop in for just one meeting, or two, or all! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re looking forward to seeing you and until then, have fun reading!
