We would like to invite you to the “1st Science Day” of the Forschungscampus Mittelhessen (FCMH), section “Mind, Brain and Behaviour”, which will be held on the 25th of October at Schloss Rauischholzhausen.
We kindly ask you to you forward this invitation also to the members of your work group.

Our main goal is to connect investigators from different fields of this broad section including psychologists, physicians, veterinarians, biologists, chemists and many more, which all share an interest in mind, brain and behaviour. Particularly, we want to invite young investigators (Postdocs and PhD students) to take part and use this chance to network, learn and discuss.

Registration will begin from 8.30am and the programme will start at 9am with a short welcome and introduction.
To get an overview of the work being done in our section we have prepared two symposia with the topics “perception” and “behaviour”. Experts will give talks (15 min) over basic and clinical science with a focus on the connectivity of both fields. After a lunch break we will have a “Speed Dating” session. Short “Speed Dates” will give you the opportunity to meet PI’s as well as other young investigators, not only to get more information about scientific topics, but also a chance to talk about career and project management and maybe spark new collaborations. In a following poster session you will be able to present results on your own research and encourage scientific and interdisciplinary exchange. In the afternoon, before dinner, there will be a panel discussion on career paths, funding and obstacles. We have invited interesting guests to provide helpful advice, especially for the first steps after your PhD, if you are planning to stay in research, academia or industry.

Additionally, we are planning a “Methods Swap”. Participants can hand in a profile with methods they perform and methods they are interested in and which could be helpful for their own research. These profiles will be printed out so that you can look for interesting collaboration partners and connect right on site.

To offer easy transport to Schloss Rauischholzhausen, we are planning a bus transfer from Marburg and Gießen in the morning (approx. 8am) and back in the evening (approx. 7.30pm). If there are enough people interested in a shuttle transfer we will book this and let you know. Therefore, if you are interested we ask you to sign up.

If you want to join us on the “1st Science Day” of the FCMH, section “Mind, Brain and Behaviour”, register with the following link. Registration deadline will be the 10th of October. Due to the limited space of facilities at Rauischholzhausen we can only offer 100 spots. During the registration process, you will be asked if you want to present a poster and therefore submit an abstract (max. 300 words). The abstract submission deadline will be the 30th of September. You will also find the options for participation in the “Speed Dating” session, where we can also only offer limited spots. If you are interested in the “Methods Swap”, please follow the link (https://forms.gle/hKNteCgdEq7ojhup9) to fill in your profile and we will prepare the forms.
